Description: Between 1985 and 1987, Marco van Basten was simply unstoppable for Ajax, solidifying his reputation as one of the most lethal strikers in European football. During this period, he won the Eredivisie Golden Boot twice, scoring an incredible 37 goals in the 1985-1986 season and 31 goals in the following campaign. His technical brilliance, aerial prowess, and clinical finishing were unmatched, and he helped Ajax secure the KNVB Cup in both seasons. Van Basten’s final act at the club was guiding Ajax to victory in the 1987 Cup Winners’ Cup, scoring the decisive goal in the final against Lokomotive Leipzig.
